Muth Mirror Systems Announces Involvement with the SEMA iVillage Women's Lifestyle Vehicle

Sheboygan, WI -- Muth Mirror Systems provided a number of accessories for the SEMA iVillage Women's Lifestyle Vehicle that will be on display at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 1st through the 5th.

The concept vehicle, a Mercury Villager MY 2000, is being constructed as a cooperative effort of the SEMA Businesswomen's Network, Ford Motor Company and iVillage.com.  Built by Classic Design Concepts of Walled Lake, Michigan the vehicle is specially outfitted with the most sought after trimmings by women.

Input for the vehicle was based on ideas women submitted to the Women's Auto Center on the iVillage.com web site.  Ford and iVillage reviewed the list of popular-voted accessories and selected those to include on the trend-setting vehicle.

Muth provided their Signal Mirror® Safety System, parking assist, audio e-mail, navigational guidance system, anti-glare side mirrors, and PC companion with cellular phone connection for the vehicle.

Muth is currently best known for the Signal Mirror® Safety System which uses high intensity lights to change a vehicle's ordinary exterior rearview mirrors into safety features that command attention and helps to prevent accidents.  When a turn signal is activated, a flashing chevron appears in the corresponding side mirror to alert drivers in the blind spot.  The mirrors appear as regular rearview mirrors whether the turn signals are activated or not.  When emergency hazard flashers are activated chevrons in both mirrors flash.  This system is available for over 70 vehicles.

Like many components that go into a concept vehicle, many accessories are being refined and fully tested in order to bring to the automotive aftermarket.

"We are honored that SEMA, Ford and i.Village.com would include our accessories on this vehicle," said Kristi Lawrence, Marketing Manager for Muth.  "Studies have shown that families are concerned with safety when focusing on the vehicle they drive.  The products we've be asked to include on the Villager address that concern."

The SEMA Businesswomen's Network is a SEMA committee that supports professional growth for women in the specialty equipment industry.  Ford Motor Company and iVIllage have an exclusive multi-year partnership that actively involved women in car development.
