RELEASE November 20, 2003 Muth Company and Bing-Lear Settle Legal Issues |
| Sheboygan, WI -- Muth and Bing-Lear have settled their differences and agreed to dismiss all claims in the current litigation. The parties have agreed to continue their business relationship. The settlement grants Bing-Lear a limited license to Muth's Signal Mirror® technology for use in connection with Bing-Lear's supply of Signal® mirrors for the Ford Windstar and Freestar line of vehicles. U.S. Patent No. 6,264,353, which concerns Signal Mirror® technology, is also being assigned to Muth as a part of the settlement. All financial terms of the settlement are confidential. Signal® mirrors alert drivers in a vehicle's "blind spots" to help prevent accidents. When a turn signal is activated a red chevron flashes through the glass in the corresponding mirror. When the hazard lights are on signals flash in both mirrors. Signal® mirrors function as standard mirrors whether the signals are active or not.
