| Sheboygan, WI -- Muth Mirror Systems is introducing a redesigned Wide Angle Signal® Mirror which can fit on virtually any vehicle. The new Wide Angle Signal® Mirror has been engineered with a decrease in the depth of the mirror from the surface of the OEM glass surface. The rim of the mirror has been thinned down as well. And the new diameter of the Wide Angle Signal® Mirror is under 3". All of these enhancements translate into a lower overall profile and sleeker look.
There continues to be an option to select either the traditional red LED chevron display (kit #220-0056-0) or an amber LED chevron display (kit #220-0056-1). The amber display was developed for use in select foreign countries that allow only amber signals on a vehicle. Also, certain U.S. vehicles are being manufactured with amber tail lights and owners want the Signal® Mirror display to match the tail lights.
A Wide Angle Signal® Mirror is actually two mirrors in one; a fully functional convex mirror and a Signal® Mirror. The convex feature allows for vehicles approaching in the blind spot to appear in the OEM side mirror first, move through the Wide Angle Signal® Mirror, and then into the driver's peripheral view. The Signal® Mirror feature adds a high-intensity chevron which flashes through-the-glass™ of the Wide Angle Signal® Mirror when a turn indicator is activated. This chevron alerts surrounding drivers in the "blind spots" of the vehicle's intentions. When hazard flashers are used chevrons flash in both Wide Angle Signal® Mirrors. The Wide Angle Signal® Mirror mounts directly on to the glass of the OEM side mirror.
"Signal® Mirrors as a vehicle safety accessory have gained great attention. We get many requests daily for specific Signal® Mirrors to be developed for many vehicles on the road. Since each mirror requires specific tooling, this would be difficult to fulfill. To meet consumer demand we created the Wide Angle Signal® Mirror, which has become highly successful as well," says Kristi Lawrence, Marketing Manager at Muth.
Each Wide Angle Signal® Mirror kit comes complete with two mirrors, a wiring kit, and installation instructions. The new lower suggested retail price is $129 per kit. Professional installation is recommended.
