Signal® Mirrors Improved for Cruiser Motorcycles

Sheboygan, WI -- Muth Mirror Systems is introducing improved Signal® mirrors for cruiser motorcycles including Harley-Davidson, Indian, and metric type cycles. The mirrors feature a new stem design that fits motorcycles with a hydraulic clutch like the Harley V-Rod and Screaming Eagle models. The improvement means a cleaner looking installation since the right side adaptor that was required for Harley models 1996 and newer is eliminated.

The new cruiser motorcycle Signal Mirror® kit #220-0165-0 has a suggested retail price of $399. For installation on a metric cruiser, a thread adapter kit #300-0037-0, with a suggested retail price of $25 is also required. Professional installation is recommended.

The Signal Mirror® housings are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and are finished with high-quality triple chrome plating. Overall the design, 3" high x 6" wide x 5/8" deep, is sleeker and thinner than competitive mirrors that have lights in the mirror head.

The glass of the mirrors is the same quality found on the Muth original equipment manufacturer automotive applications. The glass is "flat" to provide a true view of things reflected from behind the cycle.

Signal® mirrors include both the high-intensity red flashing chevron in the mirror as well as an amber forward-face signal. The signals are activated when a biker uses the turn signal to alert surrounding drivers in the "blind spots" of their intentions. When hazard flashers are used signals flash in both mirrors. The mirrors function as regular mirrors whether the turn signals or hazard flashers are on or off.

Unlike the adjacent drivers who see a highly visible lighted display, the driver of the cycle equipped with Signal® mirrors sees a subtle tell-tale display. This reminds the biker the mirror is activated.

Signal® mirrors have been endorsed by law enforcement personnel who ride motorcycles as an important safety accessory that allows a biker to attract attention considering they are typically the smaller vehicle on the road. Comments continue to come in from other cyclists who like the cool look it gives their cruiser.

"We made the improvement to this design to allow the V-Rods to be retrofit with Signal® mirrors," says Kristi Lawrence, Marketing Manager at Muth. "And, the elimination of the adaptor kit makes the mirrors more attractive to cruiser owners who are very focused on great looking machines."
